My family, and especially my husband, loves pizza. We make pizza with a grain-free storebought pizza crust, topped with homemade sauce and our favorite toppings. Pizza is one of the easiest meals to prepare, so we have it once or twice a month on busy nights when I don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen.
This recipe for Quick and Easy Pizza Sauce comes together simply, and it makes enough for two 12-inch pizzas. I like to freeze the leftover sauce in the tomato paste jar, and then it is easily ready for our next pizza night.
Quick and Easy Pizza Sauce
Makes enough sauce for two 12-inch pizzas
One 7-ounce jar of tomato paste, preferably organic and in a glass jar
1&1/2 tsp dried oregano (or 1&1/2 Tb fresh minced oregano)
1&1/2 tsp dried basil (or 1&1/2 Tb fresh minced basil)
3/4 tsp onion powder
1&1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp finely-ground Celtic sea salt (omit this if your tomato paste is salted)
1/4 tsp pepper
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Stir until well-combined.
Spread the sauce evenly over the pizza crust. Only half of this recipe is needed for one 12-inch pizza crust.
If desired, freeze the leftover pizza sauce right in the tomato paste jar!
